I am pleased to introduce our guest speaker, Leslie Goddard. Leslie is an actress and historian who has been portraying famous women in history for more than ten years.

In addition to both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in theater, she has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and currently works full-time as a historical interpreter and public speaker.

Today she is going to take us back to 1963. We are in the sitting room of Rachel Carson’s summer cottage in Maine.
